Teach your kids to retain the ball close to their feet when trying to control the ball: As one of the important soccer training tips, they should keep their head up and keep an eye on other player’s movements on the field. They should try to touch the ball with every step when dribbling the ball. This ensures a close control of the ball and then enhances a player’s ability to take the ball away from defenders.

Get the cross in: During the first half of the game, take shots on the goal and observe the goalkeeper throughout. If the player is going to create a space and run between them, they should let the other team members know. It type of communication is necessary of the young players in the course of their development.

When it comes to training for soccer, guide the players to seek into the area amid the 6 and 18 yard boxes. This will encourage the goalkeeper to come out in an effort to save the ball. This will make the goal open and defenseless.

Let’s take an example; holding one leg in front of you and keeping it as high as you can. Doing this your hamstring is stretched and as the hip flexors and quadriceps grip your leg up.

Static passive: It is the ability to hold a stretch using your body weight or some other external force. For example; picture yourself holding your leg out in front of you and relaxing it on a chair.

Let’s now move on to the next step in following soccer training tips. This needs your attention with respect to kid’s sports gear and make sure that their attire is well suited to the weather.

Training for soccer should be complemented by a fitness program that is designed to identify and improve upon the weak areas. One should keep the following factors in mind while designing such a training program.

Player’s age: Decrease in the flexibility of soft tissue with aging is directly related to the reduced range of movement as one grows older, irrespective of the gender. But, if we remain active, the flexibility will always remain.

Gender: Girls exhibit a greater range of movement, independent of their age.

Motion: It is natural for kids with an active lifestyle to showcase better soccer skills and a greater range of movement that the ones not so active on field.

Injury: Injuries also hamper the range of motion in a joint.

Pain: Flexibility decreases as pain increases, resulting in muscle spasms. On the other hand, strength training does not affect flexibility if you are doing the exercises correctly and in full range of motion.

Genetics: The amount of flexibility that a player possesses also depends upon his genetics.

Does it sound familiar when I say that stretching forms an integral part of soccer training tips and is widely recommended and practiced by almost all sportspersons? Soccer is one of such sports that is always growing and developing in its complexity.

There are two kinds of stretching; static and dynamic, that are slotted in planning training for the soccer season.

In static stretching, players stretch their muscles to a certain point of resistance and then hold for some period of time. When it comes to dynamic stretching, recurring motions, rhythmic bouncing, and rebounding is what the player does. In general, it is not considered as effective as static stretching and more dangerous than static stretching.

This article shares some of the benefits that stretching provides in helping average players become champions.

Stretching reduces injuries: Constant stretching by players during the day and continuing it over a period of time helps the growth of their muscles, thus diminishing the risk of injury. Stretching also provides an effective way of enhancing the muscle size and strength.

Stretching affects flexibility: Stretching prevents loss of flexibility. Nevertheless, stretching works best when performed for a greater length of time than for shorter periods of time.

Stretching for some minutes prior to any occasion is liable to improve flexibility. One of the most important soccer training tips is to focus on enhancing the player’s range of motion by spreading out the stretching program over a period of months together.

Stretching enhances performance: Player’s performance improves when stretching exercises are designed to be soccer specific.

Make sure that the kids enjoy stretching: Make stretching fun for the kids by including a variety of soccer drills into your session. Keep changing the type of warm up exercises that you perform before stretching. Try tag games, ball tag, and keep away.

Contemplate on the stretching, sense and know each stretch, along with checking for stiffness in the body.

For almost all players, one single 15-30 minute stretch for each muscle group is sufficient but some may need longer stretches and more repetitions.

The reason for this is that when the temperature of muscles is higher than normal, stiffness decreases and extensibility increases. Those players who wish to sustain or increase their flexibility can partially attain this goal by stretching. It is better, safer, and more productive to do stretching exercises when the body temperature is higher than normal.

That’s why some experienced coaches recommend stretching after a workout also. If your kids stretch for 5-10 minutes after performing soccer skills, their muscles will not tighten too fast.

Generally, players who exercise an active warm-up prior to stretching get a better range of motion than those who only stretch. So if injury prevention is your aim, stop stretching before exercise and increase the warm up time.

I again reiterate that the most important of all soccer training tips is to remember that hurried stretching does not help kids become flexible, gets monotonous and pointless, so let them take their own time to warm up before stretching. In soccer practice, many people are of the opinion that players have an inborn talent and ability to be in the game. There are many fitness mechanics that the players can be trained in to better their performance on field, although much of the talent is inborn.

To come up with an efficient soccer training plan, first understand what the demands of the game are. A lot of mechanisms provide for a strong basis for the game of soccer. Some of them are steadiness, control, flexibility, rapidity, and resilience.

You can adjust each component in your practice schedule depending on its importance in comparison to others. But it would greatly improve the player’s performance once these components become a part of the practice sessions.

In soccer drills, the following fitness components will be given a closer look to understand their link with the soccer performance. The game of soccer calls for certain movements that entail a wide range of activity. For this reason, flexibility training should be made a part of the daily soccer practice routine.

The benefits of better movement and flexibility will be realized after days of practice. What is difficult is to develop flexibility and not maintaining it.

Teach the players to concentrate on sustaining a complete series of movement for producing top rated performance on field. In most cases, practice daily all such flexibility drills which incorporate sprinting, jumping, and kicking the ball. As the game of soccer mostly requires quick thinking, increased flexibility would add up to the players skill to swiftly respond in every direction.

Goalkeepers cover up a large area on the field both horizontally and vertically. So, they need a lot of variety in movements. Mid-fielders, who have the ball’s possession also, need to jump, kick, reach, lean, and run around the field. Attacking players have the advantage because they can move when they maneuver the ball among opponents.

When the body is flexible, you can move your body over an increased range as also prevent injury. During the practice session, preventing injury is of utmost importance. Being flexible brings relief in cases where increased   running caused strain or pain in muscles and ligaments. And then, cool down exercises bring a lot of relief to the players.

Due to less or no flexibility in soccer coaching, fitness is greatly affected. On the contrary, when there is flexibility, the movement is varied and more. Additional benefit of being flexible is greater speed. With agility in your hip, knee, and ankle joints, you will be able to quicken your pace during sprinting.

In conclusion, always remember that being flexible in soccer practice sessions requires a progressive and a regular routine. This will happen only when there are a variety of flexibility exercises in your routine.
